standard MHFA COURSE
Standard Mental Health First Aid
The perfect Mental Health First Aid course for adults and educators
We deliver the ‘Standard Mental Health First Aid’ online course across all of Australia.
We also offer an in-person face to face MHFA course in the Brisbane and Metro Melbourne regions.
Accredited Standard Mental Health First Aid Course.
Our 12-hour Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course teaches you how to provide support to colleagues who may be experiencing a mental health crisis or developing a mental illness (e.g. the staff member has had a traumatic experience, or may even be suicidal).
Just like physical first aid and the related courses, Mental Health First Aid is applied until the crisis resolves or that person undertakes professional help. Mental Health First Aid strategies are taught in evidence-based training courses authored by Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Australia and delivered by accredited MHFA Instructors across the country.
Our trainers have over twenty five years experience in Mental Health in both the UK and Australia, and are well equipped to run through a variety of preventative strategies regarding mental health, including:
- Aggressive behaviour
- Traumatic events
- Depression
- Suicidal thoughts and behaviours
- Severe effects of drug or alcohol use and substance use problems
- Non-suicidal self-injury
- Severe psychotic states
- Panic attacks
- Anxiety problems
- Psychosis
Upon completion of the course, each person will receive a copy of the Standard MHFA Manual to keep and a Certificate of Completion.
